We are looking for a Value and Market Access (V&MA) Director / Associate Director, Gastroenterology.

Scope of the job

The V&MA Director / Associate Director will be responsible for directing value-adding activities to prepare IBD launches for filgotinib, in alignment with the Senior Director V&MA and consistent with the strategy for filgotinib LCM. The overall aim will be to ensure that patient access conditions reflect the value of Galapagos and our products and to ensure that patients have timely access to treatments that improve and extend their lives.

Your role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting V&MA Senior Director with insights and recommendations to lead the payer strategy & tactics for IBD and drive strategic decision making in cross-functional teams for launch
  • Demonstrating and communicating the value of Galapagos and filgotinib in IBD and supporting local teams in achieving access to ensure that patients have timely access to treatments that improve and extend their lives.

Your role:

  • Support V&MA Senior Directors, in collaboration with Medical, Health Economics, Policy, and Commercial colleagues:
    • Lead activities to build IBD strategy & tactics to demonstrate value and engage key stakeholders, based on the environment, payer expectations in IBD space, and levers of value for filgotinib, and in collaboration with clinical, medical, global product strategy, publications, and affiliates
    • Ensure strong understanding of evolving payer & competitor landscape to keep V&MA and other teams abreast of market events.
    • Conduct pricing and access related competitive intelligence and primary research on the competitor landscape
    • Identify global payer needs and design global payer research to understand primary value drivers and requirements for early access. Identify key objections and barriers, and understand local payer discussions
    • Working with Medical, RWE & Health Econ to ensure comprehensive evidence generation plan that meets payer needs
  • Ensure local market access readiness via development/implementation of guidance & tools, as well as local challenge and support
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding affiliate needs for market access success, with particular support to Benelux team
  • Support in pricing strategy implementation, pricing approval process and pricing governance for Galapagos-owned territories

Job requirements

Who are you?

You are a professional preferably with an MBA or other graduate degrees. You have at least 3 years global or regional industry or consulting experience and preferably at least 2 years of experience in the value, market access, or pricing functions. You are someone with superior analytical skills who can figure out tough problems and to craft thoughtful, clear, and logical strategy plans that act as central roadmaps towards payer success. Experience in inflammation a plus. You have excellent project management skills, in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple workstreams and priorities. You should have demonstrated an ability to make clear recommendations in the face of uncertainty and to identify & implement activities to ensure successful payer negotiations. Last but not least, you have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
