We are looking for a Technician / Senior Technician Scale-up (6 months temporary contract)


Scope of the Job:

Within the Development department based in Romainville (FR), the Technician Scale-up is responsible for managing the day-to-day support activities in the scale-up laboratory. He/She will execute the route optimization and the manufacturing of the first preclinical batch of API.


Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Perform the organic synthesis required to ensure on time delivery of preclinical batch of API, and intermediates. Contribute to the feasibility demonstration and manufacturing of API (up to 1kg)
  2. Meet the quality standards in product preparation
  3. Participate in the conception of the reactions schemes, route identification and route optimization
  4. Perform scientific and literature searches
  5. Perform basic analysis (LC/MS; NMR, Karl Fisher….) and interpret data under the supervision of scientists
  6. Upon request, deliver small quantities of specific impurities or intermediates
  7. Ensure that key equipment is maintained in good working conditions (proper use of key equipment, manage day to day maintenance and cleaning operations and organize larger repairs)
  8. Write detailed experimental protocols and ensure that laboratory Notebooks are written according to the company guidelines
  9. Present his/her activities during meeting in a detailed and concise manner
  10. Under the supervision of scientists, participate to the writing of progress reports and documentary reports
  11. As a team player, ensure productive interactions with colleagues
  12. Fully understand and ensure strict application of procedures and safety rules in place within the organization

Job requirements

Who are you ?

Education :

Bachelor (or equivalent / DUT-BTS) in Organic Chemistry

Experience :

Relevant working experience in a chemistry laboratory (minimum 5 years) preferably in an industrial setting with a quality-driven environment applying standard operating procedures.

A previous experience in scale-up is an asset.

Specific Skills :

- Organic synthesis knowledge and experimental expertise

- Data gathering, problem solving and analytical thinking skills

- English speaking and writing skills are an asset

- Strong organization skills and a high degree of flexibility are important

General and Communication Skills :

- Good interpersonal communication skills

- Good team player, capable to organize his/her time and work schedule under limited supervision

- Computer skills and proficiency in the required softwares (MS Office, ChemDraw, SciFinder…).

Relationships :

The Laboratory Technician will work closely with the Scientists and the Scale-up Team Leader.
