To support the start-up of our commercial operations in Spain and set up a whole new local operation company we are looking for a Talent Specialist/HR officer

 

Scope of the job

 

As Talent Specialist/HR Officer, you will be responsible for attracting, interviewing and on boarding new talents for our Spanish local operating company.    You will also be involved in setting up HR processes aligning with local partners, ensuring accurate payroll and follow up of all Spanish employees. 

 

Your role

 

As talent specialist/hr officer you will be involved in attracting our future Spanish talents ensuring the recruitment process is in line with GLPG standards and candidate experience is strong.  You will partner with the local leaders to understand talent requirements and manage the whole recruitment process from a to z closely working together with the talent acquisition/HR team in our head office in Mechelen.   By screening candidates through behavioural interviewing you make sure to assess their talent in the most accurate way.  You will act as a true partner to your business leaders as far as talent advice is concerned. 

In the start-up phase of the local operating company in Spain you will also be involved in all other HR related activities.  You will be the ‘spoc’ for local partners (payroll agency, insurance companies….) developing local HR operations.  You assure general HR related administration to facilitate the start-up of the new Spanish company.  You act as the primary contact for day-to-day questions of the Spanish Galapagos colleagues.

Next to that you will closely work together with HR Business partners in head office to ensure alignment on all processes and HR approach. 

 

 

Requirements

Who are you ?

 

Passionate about people and with a true start up mentality you make it happen in Spain.  You enjoy challenges and have an agile mind set.  A first HR experience (minimum 4 years) in a corporate environment will help you be successful in your job.  To make sure you connect with the whole Galapagos community you communicate excellent in both English and Spanish language.  You have a Bachelor or preferably a Master degree in relevant studies (HR, Business Administrative, Law, etc). Working knowledge of Spanish employment and social security legislation is a plus.  You are an excellent networker who easily connects with others and finds his/her way in an international environment.   Your creative mind helps you think out of the box and improves the quality of Talent Acquisition and HR experience.
