Scope of the job

The Talent & Development lead will be an integral part of the Talent Agility team. The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the delivering best in class learning and development experiences in line with our people strategy. This involves the strategic collaboration with HR Business Leads, BU Leaders & the leadership teams and other learning teams at Galapagos. Additionally, collaborate externally with recognized suppliers and partners in relentlessly delivering intended business impact.


Your role

  • Consult on the setting, the capability & development needs of business with leaders, in collaboration with the HR Business Leads.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Talent & Development to execute on the Talent agility strategy and vision.
  • Develop Leadership and managerial excellence programs in the realm of leading self, lead others, and lead an organization
  • Gather insights from the business to influence T&D priorities and design, development, implementation, and optimization of our programs and actively contribute to design and development effort
  • Design and deliver engaging and state of art development campaigns, digital learning interventions, utilizing available technologies.
  • Lead, Own & ensure delivery of curricula, and instructional interventions for the associated business unit(s).
  • Ongoing coaching of people managers and employees with an acute ability to problem-solve.
  • Measure programs delivery quality, which ensures continuous improvement, maintenance, and adjustment in programs delivery approaches accordingly to maintain pace with business growth.
  • Effectively manage external suppliers, leading regular performance reviews and embedding effective supplier management and performance management arrangements.
  • Stays attuned to internal and external factors that impact development and performance in organizations; remains aware of trends and anticipates opportunities to add value to the business.
  • Contribute to developing & embedding agile development & talent processes

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • About 8-10 years of experience in a development and learning role in pharmaceutical industry with strong knowledge of research & development
  • Proven experience as a Talent and Development consultant with focus on delivering business impact via Learning, Talent and development interventions
  • Proven expertise in creating and sustaining impact-focused relationships with senior leaders / internal stakeholders (including coaching, contracting, influencing and presenting)
  • Significant experience in learning and development design and delivery in multiple methodologies & modalities
  • Proven record of successfully growing & managing development programs in a complex, multi-location organization
  • Strong knowledge and ability to set up development programs, curricula and technically savvy
  • Organizationally savvy and able to work thru the matrix, the individual must have strong articulation & assertive communication styles.
  • Looks at problems as opportunities with the mind-set to bring structural solutions, while being ready to roll up sleeves and getting results that matter
  • Prior experience in working in the regulatory area and in Europe
  • Vendor management experience across multiple countries

Desired as a plus:

  • Experience in group facilitations, stand up delivery
  • Experience in Learning Operations
  • Experience with digital learning tools
  • Experience with learning management systems
