We are looking for a Scientist Proteomics – Mechelen,BE


As a proteomics expert, you will develop and perform target discovery proteomics as well as quantitative LC-MS/MS methodologies in cells and tissues. You will also work in close collaboration with other team members to mine the proteomics dataset to support the discovery of novel drug targets.

Your role

As a member of this research team, you will contribute to the scientific input of the project. You will need to provide expertise in LC-MS/MS proteomics, under supervision. You will design, organize and execute LC-MS/MS proteomics assays, while overseeing outsourced mass-spectrometry activities and analyzing MS/MS data in accordance with the project requirements and timelines. Ideally, you are a creative, open-minded scientist that is not afraid of challenge and enjoys working in a cross-functional team.

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • PhD or Master degree or equivalent through relevant work experience
  • Perform high-throughput LC-MS/MS proteomics workflows;
  • Perform label-free or label-based quantitative proteomics experiments;
  • Operate state-of-the-art mass spectrometry equipment is a clear plus;
  • Propose or implement new scientific or technological methods in LC-MS/MS;
  • Suggest ideas or innovations to solve a problem in your own area of expertise;
  • Actively follow the recent literature on new theories and methods in the field of proteomics;
  • Team player with good organizational and administration skills
