We are looking for a Scientist in vitro, Kidney Disease.

Scope of the job

We are looking for a scientist to support our target discovery and drug discovery of novel therapeutics for chronic kidney diseases. You will work in a collaborative environment to develop disease-specific cell models and to provide technical and scientific input for the project. You will plan, design and execute in vitro experiments, document data, troubleshoot problems and interpret data. You will effectively summarize and communicate your work to your manager.

Your role:

  • Design and execute experiments in accordance with project requirements
  • Provide ideas towards implementation of disease-relevant cellular assays
  • Pro-actively investigate, improve and adapt existing methods and techniques
  • Plan your work, execute, interpret results and propose next steps
  • Ensure a high level scientific standard is maintained
  • Presents data, results and ideas in a clear and comprehensive way internally
  • Reports to the group/team leader cellular biology in vitro, kidney/metabolic disease area

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • You have a PhD in molecular or cell biology with at least 2 years of post-graduate experience in the pharmaceutical or academic environment or a Master in life sciences with 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • You have experience with general molecular and cell biology techniques (primary cell cultures, assay development, immunoassays, transcriptomics)
  • Experience in working with primary or immortalized kidney cells and setting up in vitro cell assays
  • Ability to propose new approaches and creative solutions for scientific questions and challenges
  • Hands on experience with gene silencing techniques is preferred
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment is a plus
  • You are a team player with an objective-driven mindset, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
