We are looking for a Project Leader Early Portfolio Program Management - Mechelen,BE/Leiden,NL


Scope of the role

You will lead (several) multidisciplinary compound development project team(s), mastering the complexity of the matrix organization. Determine and execute the overall development strategy in agreement with internal and external stakeholders.


Your role


  • Be the project champion of multidisciplinary Early Development project team(s) from PCC through Ph2A.
  • Empower colleagues through your energizing, inspirational leadership style in order to enable them to thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Proactively contribute to operational project planning, risk anticipation/mitigation, team and meeting management, and coordination of decision-making, including creation/maintenance of living timelines, project plans, and other planning tools
  • Provide guidance to teams and line function members in negotiating challenges and driving to key decisions and milestones for programs
  • Facilitate successful cross-line function communication and collaboration in the face of complex and time-sensitive challenges
  • Build sustainable relationships with other functions in order to foster positive interactions and ultimately support achieving desired project results

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • PhD or Medical Doctor or equivalent through experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment
  • At least 10 years of proven track experience within leadership roles
  • You are an influential leader understanding the complexity of portfolio management
  • You are able to develop strategy on compound(s), within scope of time frame/budget. 
  • You are able to negotiate significant changes in project scope or budget with internal stakeholders.
