We are looking for a Paralegal Corporate - Mechelen, BE

Scope of the job:

She/he will support the Corporate Legal team of Galapagos NV, being a dual listed company, in all corporate related matters.

Your role:

The Paralegal Corporate:

  • Prepares and files various documents required under Belgian Corporate law and under Nasdaq listing and supports the preparation for the annual stockholders’ meeting
  • Prepares and assists on various matters related to the quarterly and year-end close process
  • Assists with managing the Corporate Governance disclosures and public reporting, including the investors section of the GLPG website
  • Assists with managing GLPG’s Insider Trading and Information Policy, including coordination of quarterly trading windows and monitoring special trading notices
  • Assists with all other legal and regulatory matters pertaining to GLPG’s status as a public company
  • Collaborates with the General Counsel and Legal Head Corporate to support the Board of Directors and its committees with certain corporate governance matters, including preparation of materials for the Board and committee meetings
  • Assists in the drafting of Board and committee minutes, agendas, calendars, written consents and resolutions; coordinates Board mailings, including preparation of electronic Board packages
  • Assists GLPG’s international affiliates with corporate entity governance
  • Supports in the drafting, renewal, dispatching and archiving of different types of agreements
  • Provides administrative and organizational support to the corporate legal team.

Job requirements

Who are you ?

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in law or in business management (specializing in law)
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or the legal department of an international company
  • Must be able to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Highly detail-oriented, rigorous and well organized
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple deadlines
  • Fluency in written and spoken Dutch and English
  • Valuable to have previous experience in corporate law
