Due to our dynamic growth we are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel Development.

Job requirements

Your role

As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will take ownership of legal issues in our team that supports Galapagos’ Clinical Development operations. We are looking for someone who can provide high quality legal advice and propose creative approaches to business issues.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • act as a business partner and provide accurate legal support to the company’s Development organization;
  • interact with internal stakeholders (Biometrics, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Procurement, Quality & Compliance) and external stakeholders (CROs, CMOs, universities, equipment and service providers, insurance brokers);
  • drafting, negotiating and reviewing clinical trial agreements and clinical-study related documents;
  • staying up-to-date with and training others in legislation and/or compliance in this field; 
  • contributing to wider organizational goals and/or activities as assigned.

Who are you?

  • You obtained your Master degree in Law with an outstanding academic track record. You have at least 3 years of experience in a law firm or in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Proficiency in Dutch and French is an advantage.
  • You are capable of analyzing complex legal issues and you have a proven to deal positively when working within tight deadlines.
  • You are a highly organized, detail-oriented, and rigorous person. You have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team on complex projects.
  • You are capable of handling confidential information in a discreet manner and you maintain the highest ethical standards
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and “can do” attitude.
