For our site in Mechelen, Belgium we are looking for a Financial Controller - Shared Service

 

Scope of the job

The Shared Services Controller will support the Finance Partner Shared Services, will be involved in monthly closing processes, is part of the central controlling team monitoring the budgets of the Group facing high growth challenges, and will monitor the budgets of the Shared Services departments in particular. The Controller provides support to the business and performs miscellaneous ad hoc analyses.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the production of correct figures for various business budget owners
  • Assist in monthly reporting process (financial and FTE reporting with variance analyses and explanations)
  • Key role in preparing yearly budgets and forecasts
  • Performing miscellaneous ad hoc financial analyses

Your role

  • Monitor the financial performance of Shared Services division with the aim of ensuring the division achieves its objectives. This includes responsibility for:
    • Daily follow up and communication with business owners
    • Monthly updates on business progress and issues;
    • Monthly reporting for the business: communicate figures that are understandable for non-economics
    • Monitoring of targets throughout the year: Analyse the monthly variance actual-budget
    • Analyse the figures and give business advises

 

Requirements

Who you are?

  • You have obtained a Master’s degree in Finance
  • You have a minimum experience of 2-3 years in audit (level Senior Auditor)
  • Experience with international companies, good working knowledge of IFRS reporting, as well as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and its requirements is a plus.
  • Comprehensive hands-on knowledge of MS excel is a must.
  • Your strong organization skills, high degree of flexibility, assertiveness and a critical mindset are key for success. In addition you are experienced in data gathering, problem solving and you have strong analytical skills.
  • You will report to the Finance Partner Shared Services and will work closely with the Accounting team, Internal Control and a.o. Operations/Procurement Coordinators.
  • You are a good communicator (both written and oral) and a real teamplayer.
