We are looking for an Application Owner Clinical Development – Mechelen,BE


Scope of the job

Galapagos’ clinical development activities are expanding, leading to an increased need for professional information systems support to the Clinical Development departments.

To support both the existing environment as well as new implementations, there is a need for a (senior) Application Owner within the ITS team in Mechelen, Belgium. This role will include the following areas of responsibility:

  • Being part of the ‘System Implementation Project Team’ to support the technical implementation of the system and, ultimately, to become the system expert during production use of the system.
  • Take ownership of the assigned systems and ensure the systems stays in a validate state (towards GxP compliance) as needed.
  • Suggest and support any system improvements where possible.
  • Ensure a good system housekeeping
  • Provide 2nd line day-to-day support for selected systems

Job requirements

Who are you? 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience supporting clinical development processes or systems in a pharmaceutical environment and supporting and implementing information systems.
  • Basic knowledge on ICH-GxP principles and/or CSV methodologies
  • Basic knowledge of Clinical Trials and how they are conducted
  • The ability to work independently, being able to partner on all applicable levels with the user groups, with a problem solving ‘can do’ approach
  • Good communicator, both in English (must) as well as in Dutch (preferred).
  • Experiences in any system used within Clinical Development area is a plus.
