For our site in Romainville, France we are looking for an Accountant AP and AR 

 

Scope of the job

Galapagos is looking for a full time AP/AR accountant to strengthen the accounting team.

At first the staff accountant will assist AP team to evolve as a versatile AP/AR accountant further the introduction of our first medicine on the market. The staff accountant will report to the Accounting manager.

 

Your role

Account Payable :

  • Checking and booking of invoices (including control of the bookkeeping and analytic accounts)
  • Follow up of accounts payables in compliance with the payment deadlines and responding to the dunning notices
  • Creation or update of the supplier’s master data
  • Intrastat

Account receivable :

  • Checking of the customer invoicing
  • Follow-up of the accounts receivables
  • Customer relationships
  • Creation and update of the customer’s master data
  • Assisting in the monthly closings

 

In general, be responsible for compliance with quality system procedures and all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

 

Who are you?

  • Degree in accounting (2 years post-secondary education)
  • 3+years of relevant accounting experience in an international environment
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Experience with SAP 4/HANA would be preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with a positive “can do” attitude
  • · Adaptable and flexible with changes in the working methods.
