We are looking for an Admin Operations officer with people management skills.


Scope of the job


As part of the development operations group, you will execute operational tasks, which are part of the core processes in the outsourcing model of the company. By executing in a timely and compliant manner, you will contribute to the successful execution of development projects across the whole development portfolio. In addition, you will coach a team of development operations officers.  Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day execution of core operational and processes within Galapagos.


Your role


You will support the business in order to make sure the purchasing processes are correctly and SOx (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliant executed. This means that you will follow-up everything from contracting related purchase orders to invoice management in close collaboration with Development and Finance department.

Beside the purchasing process you will also coordinate access management for current and future Development information systems. Access management for e.g. planning tool, document management tool, SharePoint, etc.

Dependent on your experience you are gradually involved in improvement projects. 



Who are you ?

  • You have a Bachelor degree or equivalent through experience
  • Competent in team leadership, team facilitation and team member participation
  • Substantial experience in a broad range of administrative support is required
  • Substantial experience in working with various computerized business tools is required
  • Experience in working within a matrix organisation is an asset
  • Fluent in English, both in speaking as in writing.  Knowledge on other languages (Dutch, French, …) are an asset.
  • Knowledge on working with business office tools, i.e. MS Office, Sharepoint
  • Knowledge on working with an ERP application
  • Excellent communication skills both towards staff of various divisions and departments within the company as towards external contacts.
