Team Leader Cell Pharmacology Chronic Kidney Disease - Mechelen

Job description

We are looking for an accomplished and highly motivated biologist with proven expertise in in vitro cellular biology to lead a pharmacology team working on chronic kidney disease. The team is composed of researchers and scientists whose mission is the development of in vitro cellular and phenotypic assays to support our drug discovery programs.

 

The selected candidate will supervise, organize and develop the activities of the cell pharmacology team, will identify and implement assays, experiments and innovative technologies needed to support the drug discovery projects in the area of chronic kidney disease and to maintain and further levered team expertise. You will represent the Cellular Pharmacology department in Therapeutic Area projects meetings and you will interact closely with the Therapeutic Project Leaders.

As line manager, he/she is expected to motivate and guide individuals’ career development.

 

Requirements

Ph.D. followed by minimum 7 years of experience in in vitro cell biology and pharmacology applied to early drug discovery. Previous expertise in chronic kidney disease biology is an advantage.

  • Proven successful experience in in vitro biology applied to drug discovery obtained in a Pharma/Biotech context is mandatory.
  • Demonstrate expertise in establishing in vitro assay cascades supporting small molecules drug discovery projects.
  • Proven experience in team and people management within a Pharma/Biotech context
  • Ability to drive multiple projects through matrix based organization and intense collaboration, ability to adapt activity priorities to challenging deliverables
  • Ability to bring new ideas and have a strong creativity to tackle challenges issues
  • Team player with objective driven mind-set
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Excellent communication in English is a must
  • Autonomous and able to delegate and empower people
