Scope of the job

The HR and Communications Assistant will be a key figure in the HR department by providing admin and communication assistance to the whole team, from organizing meetings and events to following up on invoices and working on the HR communication projects.

Your role

  • Establish the smooth running of HR administrative processes.
  • Ensure contract and vendor administration in collaboration with the legal department.
  • Review the HR Inbox regularly to ensure that queries are handled in a timely manner or forwarded for action to the appropriate recipient.
  • Be proactive and flexible by providing HR support to line managers and employees.
  • Manage diaries, arrange meetings and practical events including the coordination of attendees, the arrangement of meeting room bookings and travels.
  • Participate in ad-hoc communications project work when required.
  • Prepare slide decks for presentations for events and meetings.


Who are you?

  • Solid administrative and communication experience within a fast-paced office environment
  • Familiarity with different HR processes and strong organizational skills to effectively manage a varied and sizable workload with high accuracy
  • Digital mindset and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Team player who welcomes the opportunity to work across boundaries on various projects for the Galapagos group.
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing Dutch and English is required.
  • Knowledge of the French language is an asset.
