We are looking for a Head of Facility Management Cluster NL, UK, GER – Leiden, NL

 

Scope of the job

You will implement and lead the Cluster and design the Facility Management operations for your cluster in line with the global Facility Management operating model and the Global Facility Management Strategy.

 

You will have the overall accountability to lead the clustered FM organization, which allows all employees and guests to work in a safe, innovative and efficient environment that respects relevant local laws and regulations, corporate policies in HSE, CSR as well as the economic standards.

 

Enabling excellent delivery of Galapagos R&D and Commercial objectives through creating the experience of a service oriented organization.

 

The Cluster Head of Facility Management is a member of the Global Facility Management leadership team.

 

Within your accountabilities, you will:

  • contribute to the Global Facility Management strategy, Global policies and ensures deployment across the clustered countries.
  • deploy the Strategic Facility Management projects aligned and in collaboration with the help of Head of Global FM Projects.
  • advise senior management on:
    • implications of changes in (local) legislation
    • operational options on resources, process improvements concerning FM & Real Estate, Security & HSE
  • realize and management (within the cluster) of a work environment compliant to local Law, regulations and Galapagos HSE objectives
  • define, consolidate, realize and management of competitive FM budgets
  • support Global HSE to ensure the Global HSE policy and standards are implemented and enforced.
  • define, realize and manage local operational HSE budgets and consolidate and monitor performance through HSE KPIs,
  • negotiate, align & follow up of agreements with External Service Providers
  • define, manage and drive FM operational Excellence, according and in line with Global FM strategies.
  • be accountable for FM, HSE & Security compliance within their cluster
  • define and manage the cluster budget (with a direct impact on P&L) 
  • acts as a role model, in line with all ethical and compliance rules of the company and promotes the highest ethical & compliance standards. 

Requirements

Who are you?

  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in a Facility Management function, in an international organization, with experience in Health, Safety & Environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and take a helicopter view, but also be able to dive deep into operational problems when required
  • Leadership skills: Ability to shape culture, sense of belonging, motivate a large group of people to work towards a common set of goals
  • Knowledge of real estate market and maintenance management
  • Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team being a coach and people leader
  • Personality with strong delivery skills and focused on results
  • Very good communicator with an ability to discuss on executive level within Galapagos as well as externally (Dutch and English, German is a plus)
