Scope of the job

We are looking for a Medical/Scientific Affairs Manager to support our pre-authorisation activities in the fibrosis field. Be part of the international medical team supporting our fibrosis portfolio of developmental medicines, in particular preparation for launch of GLPG1690 for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)!

Your role

To provide integrated scientific, clinical and product expertise to support the fibrosis portfolio, and IPF  in particular:

  • Be an internal expert on GLPG1690 and relevant therapeutic areas
  • Develop and advise on scientific content and strategy around launch related activities and materials such as advisory boards and presentations for scientific exchange
  • Lead preparation and execution of the medical educational and disease awareness activities (e.g. congress, online)
  • Develop and facilitate internal and external training
  • Assist with data generation needs as relevant including but not limited to Real World Data, registries, clinical studies, subanalysis within existing datasets of our trials. Input into publication strategy and content.
  • Develop professional relationships with external experts that add value to our business and our customers.
  • Develop an understanding of the therapeutic landscape to identify opportunities for scientific leadership and innovative patient care solutions to advance patient care. 


Who are you ?


We are looking for a new colleague in our global medical affairs department with a solid scientific background (MSc/PhD/MD) and at least 3-5 years of medical affairs experience, preferably within the therapeutic area of respiratory and/or rare diseases and with European or international experience. A genuine interest to advance science and healthcare in these areas to ultimately meet patient’s needs is mandatory. You are analytical to optimize data interpretation but also well capable to present data in a clear way both in writing as well as verbally and tailored to your audience. You are a team player with an open mind set who “dares to try” and can easily shift gears as needed. Creating a scientific strategy, as well as initiatives, and implementing those is something you enjoy and can be accountable. You are honest and firm when it comes down to scientific and clinical data and will always keep in mind what it means for a patient with everything you do. English language ability is required.
