We are looking for a Financial Controlling Manager - Mechelen,BE.

Your role

You are  responsible for Galapagos’ monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial management reporting, budget and forecasts and provide decision support to Senior Management, via partnering with the finance partners to help illuminate cash flows, resource allocation and make actionable recommendations on how best prioritize investments to support the company’s strategic imperatives and contribute to profitability improvement.

One priority is to focus on continuous process and corporate reporting improvement, as well as preparing decision support and webcast call materials for the CFO. You also coordinate forecasting and budgeting tools, processes and systems support across the organization to ensure timely, accurate and insightful consolidated reporting and decision support.

You will work with IT business partners to drive accuracy, consistency, efficiencies and standardization into existing financial systems and will be involved in an SAP implementation.


Who are you

  • An education at university level is desirable (Degree in economics, business administration).
  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis or other financial analytics leadership roles, within an international environment with good working knowledge of IFRS reporting. Preferably Big 4 background as well.
  • Strong affinity with IT: experience with financial applications and advanced Excel capabilities; (SAP S4 Hana is a plus)
  • Strong financial forecasting, reporting and analysis skills
  • Prior experience working in a global matrix environment; experience coordinate processes and delivering results through the collaboration of related teams
  • Problem solving and “hands on” attitude
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Dutch and/or French
