We are looking for a Commercial Controller - Mechelen,BE

 

Scope of the job

 

You are the principal financial business partner to the Commercial team. You will support the pre-launch and after launch activities mainly focused on BeNeLux with extension to other countries in a later phase.

  • You provide financial decision support on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters impacting the achievement of the business objectives. 
  • You will manage all areas of financial support, including but not limited to financial reporting and forecasting, business analysis and modelling future assets, simulating prices. 
  • You support in the budgeting process and prepare analysis and presentations needed for the Business Partners and Controlling. 
  • You interact effectively within a matrix organization.

As part of the Global Commercial Finance team you will partner with the Global Commercial team to achieve the annual and long term targets. 

 

More specifically on - 

 

Reporting

  • Provides accurate & business-relevant analyses to support monthly controlling and business reviews, covering internal spending reports and market & competitor analysis
  • Building up future platform for financial management reporting – integrating internal (sales monitoring, margin analysis) and external data (IQVIA, hospitals, CRM, travel, expenses, etc)
  • Being part of the SAP implementation
  • Building up reporting package out of SAP
  • Guide and execute the budgeting and forecasting process of the commercial activities
  • Liaises with the Commercial Forecaster for top line and Budget Owners for expenditures
  • Build budget impact models for individual hospitals based on input from the team
  • Support for pricing simulations
  • Consolidate the budget and prepare presentation
  • Being part of the launch preparation from finance prospective
  • Ensure compliance with and execution of IFRS requirements
  • Contact for local data suppliers (ie IQVIA)
  • Basic CRM/data manager activities, ie. release management, segmentations, surveys, cycle plan uploads
  • Data analytics on real time/weekly/monthly basis
  • Backup for colleagues in the Controlling department
  • Integrates effectively across the company's matrix organization; very effective lateral communication and coordination across groups, internal and external to the controlling function, to improve efficiency and achieve desired results Proactively identifies and communicates areas for financial improvement 

SAP implementation

  • Being part of the SAP implementation
  • Building up reporting package out of SAP

 

Budgeting / forecasting

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Degree in Finance or equivalent with at least 5 years relevant budgeting, financial planning and reporting experience (pre-launch experience is a big plus)
  • Strong understanding and application of financial principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Good business acumen and judgement. Knowledge of products and industry trends is essential.
  • Commercial Awareness - has active interest in the business internally and externally, seeks opportunities to build and help the business
  • Strong analytical skills (focus on added value) - able to carry out in depth analysis of complex, diverse and large volumes of information to achieve full understanding and required output
  • Strong problem-solver with “can-do” mentality, able to both pragmatically define solutions and capture and understand all relevant details when necessary
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a must
  • Strong abilities to interact with stakeholders and to create network across departments and geographies.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional and international environment
  • Interaction with global colleagues & business partners will require occasional international travels
  • Stress resistant and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong systems background:
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel a must
    • Experience in SAP ERP is a plus
