We are looking for an (Associate) Scientist – 9 months  – Leiden,NL

 

Scope of the job

You are an accomplished and highly motivated (associate) scientist with experience in renal cell/disease models to strengthen our Target Discovery & Validation team. The team is composed of researchers that identify and validate novel drug targets in specific disease-relevant cellular assays.

You will help coordinate and run the day-to-day activities of the team, help to maintain and further develop disease specific technologies and cellular models and give scientific input for the project.

Within the project, you will actively contribute to the design and set up of the experiments. You are expected to perform lab experiments independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you will document your work in the Lab Notebooks according to guidelines and report and present your work to your project manager.

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Master or PhD with relevant work experience in renal disease areas
  • Experience in establishing in vitro assays and in culturing renal cells and/or cell lines in 2D and/or 3D models (preferably in a high-throughput format)
  • A previous experience in an industrial environment is preferred
  • The ability to work on multiple projects through intense collaboration, ability to adapt activities priorities to challenging deliverables
  • The ability to bring new ideas and have a strong creativity to tackle challenges issues
  • An excellent team player with objective driven mind-set
  • Excellent communication in English is a must
