We are looking for an Associate Medical Director.


Your role

You will participate in the design and the execution of the clinical development strategy and plan. You will be responsible for one or more clinical studies, where you contribute to the design and implementation of the studies.


You will:

  • Be a member of the Clinical Development Team (CDT)
  • Participate in designing and implementing specific studies of the CDP
  • Be medical representative in assigned clinical study teams
  • Lead or assist with Competent Authority and Ethics Committee/IRB submissions
  • Be the primary contact for medical review of safety information from clinical trials
  • Collaborate with the responsible person for safety reporting
  • Work closely with Clinical Operations to ensure
    • Adequate executions of Medical aspects of the study
    • Assessment of trial feasibility and investigator/site selection
  • Acts as a liaison between Galapagos and investigators and/or experts
  • Be compliant with GCP and other regulations


Who are you?

  • MD or MD/PhD (relevant experience in Immunology or Inflammation is a plus)
  • Has a strong scientific foundation and analytical skills with preferably work or post-doctoral training experience in an academic institution
  • 2 or more years of experience in clinical research
  • A working knowledge of Phase II – III drug development
  • Strong leadership skills and a strategic thinker
  • Energetic with a can-do attitude
  • Medical practice experience is definitively a plus.
  • English speaking and writing skills are required 
  • Willingness to travel max. 25% of time
